A way to implement moving solids.

Okay, first things first: DO NOT READ THIS POST IF YOUR ONLY INTENTION IS TO FLAME. Trolling welcome ;)

    Here is my idea.
What if the mousewheel was linked to particle size, rather than brush size on certain materials? it would be another step towards moving solids! I don't understand tpt's code, so I can't do this. I'm putting it put there for some of the great developers we have here to have a go at :)

Yeah, uh, this has been presented before and collision was still too hard to code, and I doubt that giant pixels would be the most aesthetically pleasing feature.

This statement is a lie! No, but seriously I think its been suggested before.

Has it? I haven't been here in a while... Oh well. If there was a way to take down the thread, i would.

It would mean we would be able to place a giant ball of powder, rather than a pile.

The main issue is that collision will still be a *****. Also, not that many people would find a giant ball of powder useful.

If I could control gravity, flight would be easy! There, that's another step towards human flight.

Except I can't control gravity, and there's no feasible way for me to do so. Just because you have some ridiculous, out there idea like particle size doesn't mean it'll work. For one, you can't change particle size without a complete rewrite of the engine. Particles are one pixel, that's an unchangeable fact.

I'll agree with you, you don't know anything about programming. It's more complex than just having an idea. Stop suggesting moveable solids.

@ozone (View Post) That's a cool idea but then think about sparks travelling over a single particle. It will skip over the particle in a tick. Plus, the rotation problem is still at hand.
@DerpLord What do you know of the particle size modification? And what do you know of ourthe engine? Stop flaming.

"our"? I didn't know you were one of the devs, boxmein. Unless by "our" you mean "I've read the source code", but the source is available to everyone.

He means "our" in the sense that the game is opened sourced under GPL. It belongs to everyone who can find it.
