you do not need to join a group to do that. and in reality the group is in active so who would you ask. just ask a pro what you want to know.
I have a theory that the Group explosion TPT experienced actually hurt the community at large. instead of interacting as 1 large group the community became fractured into smaller sub communities. Those small communities dwindled do to lack of critical mass. no one group had enough for sustainability. as the groups dwindled so did the community at large. I have no intention of reopening TheTechnologyLeague to new members any time soon. we need people to interact on the main forum board more. In my opinion. In fact I think we would be better off with a way to just have isolated group chats to allow people to congregate and share ideas without really seperating them from the main body. Yes, After much thought, I think the group system should go away. force people to act as a single community. there is strength in numbers people. deviding ourselves into clicks is not productive.

I agree with you. Maybe a chat system could be dervived in vanilla tpt? It would be better for interaction between users and boost user activity on TPT itself. I think the mods/devs didn't think about the implications of groups when they were made but we are feeling the adverse effects of that decision to make groups now.

I don't really like the groups system either, it's extremely buggy, impossible to find active groups, and you can't even see what is inside or who the members are before joining. I think it probably needs a massive overhaul and a cleanup of the hundreds of useless groups, then maybe people would use it.
Back when I was just a member here, there was a separate groups section of the forums. That worked pretty well. Making everything private did not ..., would be nice if everything was more public, but only group members could post (and there could also be private threads)
Oh, also another thing it needs is an easy way to see new posts in groups you are in. I only use the "recent topics" to interact on the forums, I never go into subforums. I have no reason to venture into private groups either unless it tells me there is something there.

I meant a way to have a group chat on the forums. however if one uses TPT multiplay mod you can do an in game chat. Why has that not been made part of official TPT? that might actually help build the community. it would get people engaged in game. people like to play together. maybe that should be a development goal. I dunno. just thinking.
