I'm not the OP or anything but what I think it is:
"forgemetal" presumably represents the idea of shaping metal with a hammer, but in such a way that works with TPT (using pressure to turn it into a powder so it can move and change shape, then turning back to solid when the pressure is gone). Heating it up makes it softer, like with real metals. I'd guess the formula would be something like pressure required = x - (temp-y) , basically relating the pressure to the temperature.
If I'm wrong about any of this, feel free to correct me, since it's not my suggestion.
As for uses... Radiation-sensitive wires might be fun to play with? Having solids that get dented by impacts but not completely disentegrated? I'm sure the community will think of something
