Perhaps if you block/delete a comment from another user or lock a thread, it could alert an online moderator, just so that no-one abuses their power!

yes but then every few minutes the mods would have an alert , theyd need another server just for alerts if they stayed any longer than a day or two XD

and i think it would be simpler to have a report button

Would be very useful. And as @tommig said, a online moderator will get a notice saying "@Anmol444 has banned @dukenukem23 from everything he makes" lol.

Rather than start a new thread, this came up when I typed "Lock Own Thread" into the search bar. So, I'm just saying, (and it is not necro, I am saying something helpful/useful to the thread,) I really think we should be able to lock our own threads, it does NO harm, and saves the Mods a little work.
