desroert: I was actually thinking about that myself. It'd be nice if we had a way to set certain particles as 'invincible'--not affected by excessive pressure, heat, AMTR, or anything else. Certain particles are useful for their special properties, but wouldn't last in the situations they're required in. Perhaps they could be locked in place as well. It'd also be nice if we could force particles to acknowledge the presence of locked particles and not 'skip' them...this could probably be accomplished by having an array with all the locked particles in it, which would be checked during movement in a manner similar to how walls are.
Carpaccio for clarification on the locking, you mean that the particles will still have their special properties even while locked? for instance WIFI, it would still give/take sparks but would be indestructible from pressure/acid ect. I think i can figure out a way to do this.
cracker64: Yes, and BMTL would still have the photon-splitting effect, but just not be breakable, the silicons (PSCN and NSCN) would work at the temperatures that would normally turn them into lava, METL wouldn't melt, glass wouldn't break, plant wouldn't It wouldn't be very hard to do, really. The hard part is getting it to save properly.
As for other ideas...how about disabling fancy mode's 'radioactive' glows (too buggy) and instead tinting spawners with the particles they generate? E.g. CLNE that's set to spawn WATR would be a little more blue. I'm not sure how this would work with the fact that they're already yellow to begin with, hence my suggestion that fancy mode should be changed a bit (so it would support this).
yes, i could make it save, it would just have to be a new version, woo! here comes v45! i guess i can get rid of those ugly glows, and see if i can make CLNE change color slightly. the view i use the LEAST is fancy, because it just looks terrible.
ALSO, update with rotate, it now does walls and will save particle properties. Still only squares though.
cracker64 could you add a new feture to metal broken metal etc that when you heat it that it startes to glow red 100-200 degrees below melting point? that would be pretty cool!
