Dragonfree97, I do not understand what you are saying, an EMP is only effective against electronic devices, I do not see how such a device be used in a destructive device, please explain.
Ideas for an EMP effect: >Something like photons >Some sort of gas >Something completely different
>Kills metal >Sparks everything >Kills batteries and other stuff, but not metal itself
>Produced with nuclear explosions >Produced from high-power photons hitting something >Produced some other way
I reckon it should spread in a wave (Sort of like how sparks spread through water, in a circular/octagonal pattern) and it should spark metal on contact. That way, many electronic devices will be ruined instantly. It would also destroy batteries, semi-conductors and wifi. This screws up pretty much everything else. And I wish I could program... Any opinions on these ideas?
Yew101, neutrons would be unrealistic and too destructive as they can modify and destroy some elements that are not effected by an EMP.
Dragonfree97, your idea is quite realistic as photons are the gauge bosons of electromagnetic force, quite simply put, they carry the force that controls magnetism and electricity.

That's basically what I was thinking and it wouldn't move with pressure like photons or neutrons.
Dragonfree97 I've tried it and its pretty cool.I like how when it goes over the metal and you can sea where it is.2 things that could make it better are 1 it could give the metal a final spark before it turns to dead metal and 2 if it was one thing that expanded as stated by slowpoke152 and it would just spread outwards. I don't know how you'd do both because I've looked at the source in visual studio and it looks quite complex but you can use it well and could probably figure it out.I don't know if you've seen iron man 1 but I liked the look of the emp at the end and thought it would be good if you could see the emp with the blue glow.
A blue glow is very easy. That was merely to test the principle of it. It just fires photon-like particles in 360 degrees, I don't know how to make it expand like a big blob, however
