I need Windows for school, but anything I can do on my mac, I do on my mac.
Besides, why not get Microsoft Anti virus, it is free.

Listen to the other members and the world: Norton is a piece of **** so please, please uninstall it. There are better antivirus programs out there.

Is this why Windows is the most popular Operating System in the world?

    no the reason is 'cos:
    1) microsoft publicity
    2) some industries shows windows as a base to install their programs
    3) was be one of the most important technology developer in the 90's

...but the fame of bill gates are dissapearing, windows is now from the past...the future are in Apple and Google hands (BWAHAHAHAHA!)

If that happens Powder Toy wouldn't exist because:
    1) Google would have an internet so broad we couldn't find it
    2) Apple would have an internet so short we couldn't find it.

Actually, Panda detects a LOT of false positives..98 files, in fact, in the test sample AV-Comparatives used (~20 antiviruses, median is about 17-20). Panda scored worst on the false positives test. It is ironic that you recommend it, pilojo, because the problem with Norton in this case is it detecting a false positive. Panda has a reasonably high detection rate, but AV-Comparatives is testing the shareware version of Panda, which is undoubtedly more accurate than the online version (Panda Antivirus Pro 2011, to be exact). Panda scored 3rd in the detection test, behind AVIRA, which was first.

Also - if a virus happened to disable Internet, your method would be useless, pilojo.

In addition, many users cannot delete from the registry, and some don't even know what it is. In my experience, this is where most viruses are located. Just because you have been gullible enough to download a rogue antivirus program doesn't mean everyone else is as naive.

EDIT: Editing previous posts due to information presented in future posts to avoid looking like an inane fool is not the best way to generate trust.

AVG antivirus is really good, so I would recommend that one.

To reinforce what others said, Norton sucks.......

Alright I am probably the only one who will actually help, rather then abusing all the anti virus systems.

Go onto norton and go to computer settings, under exclusions press add.

Select the folder / file and add it. Do it to both scans and auto-protect.

Then go under Internet Settings and under Smart Firewall and select Program Control Configure [+]

Press the ADD button, go to and select the powder toy exe file and then go and make sure its allowed.

Delete AVG, Norton or Panda. (If you have any of them.)

    Get common sense.

    Profit.
