After it picks a random existing id it should check if the save is published, you don't want every private save ever being discovered by people spamming the random save button.

That is very true. meybe you could also have a button that when you save something it comes up if you want it to be visible to the randomiser button

Not really necessary, people mostly only unpublish saves if they don't want anyone to see it, either because it is made for private purposes or it is used as a better alternative to deleting. -
