Are you using Insert/Edit Image? That's not quite how to upload images without using links. Just dragging and dropping or copying and pasting would do,assuming WYSIWYG editor works.

You're doing something wrong....
1)Make sure WYSIWYG editor is OFF.
2)In your post, type in

<img src="xxxx" >

Replace xxxx with the proper link of the image you want to post.

That should work.

You can just replace < and > with &lt; and &gt;. That'll confuse the parser!
