Burnt wood

Interesting idea. One idea to add on to this is that the charring and burning occurs at faster rates at higher temperatures. For example, at 600°C, it would burn and char at the pace wood currently burns at, but at say, 9000°C, it burn completely about a second.

That might be a part of realistic heat/latent heat feature

yeah. as before: breaking old saves :P

Just make a new wood with those properties.

Explain to me how something changing colors is gonna break saves.

I think you are suggesting something similar to coal when heated, but now it's just wood turning black from heat or flame. I like the idea, and it *should* be easy to implement. :)

I had intended the different burn speeds to be optional, as in it doesn't have to be put in the game, but if it goes get put in, it should be a part of realistic heat. The charring effect on wood doesn't affect saves in any way and would be a part of both the current heat system and the realistic heat system.

WOOD is a very old element, any changes at all (except for appearance) will of course, break lots of saves. I really like your idea of charring wood.

This won't break a single thing, because this would be added as a new feature, instead of a direct update to the wood material. And I seriously think they fixed it so new element changes won't break saves. Such as the new sponge change, sponge no longer moves with console commands but old saves that utilize moving sponge can still work with the moving sponge. So no, I do t think it would break any saves if it were a direct change, and even if it did, they would just make this part of a new selectable switch type option, just as Newtonian gravity works in the sense that it can be toggled on and off.

Wood in TPT don't heat a lot. It's (and fire) temp is so low (~ 250 C, IRL ~ 800 C)... I think that TPT burning is stupid (doesn't updated since TPT creating) and need update. For example, from my mod.
