Brush cant do single particles any more why?

    just redownloaded and still wont let me do a single particle of a substance still 5 horitonal brush

    Holding SHIFT makes ovals. Hold SHIFT and adjust with the Mousewheel to fix.

    Doesnt work for me. I have 5 across. Version 44.6. Holding CTRL can make it taller but SHIFT doesnt work if I try to make it narrower.

    EDIT: Fine now. Must be something to do with laptop trackpad.
