    I agree. All it takes is for Simon to ask the freenode staff to unregister the channel because it is using the #powder namespace, and they will make him new owner. He did this last year with #powder-social. Anything that starts with #powder can be taken by him.

    Anyway, I think you should move the channel unless you want even more complaints :P. It isn't like anyone is used to the old one. I recommend ##forumgames or something with 'games' in it at the least ...

    There are so many better choices to choose from. idk why you picked #powder-forums it's not even close to the name of your group.

    Pick an original and creative name that isn't taken, a name that describes your group, something like forumgames, forum-games or maybe even TFGC, don't choose a name that doesn't even have to do with the name of your group, even the word "Forum" is singular, not plural.

    Edit: What greymatter said is true, isn't it rude for you to do such a thing?

    Could staff aprove use of #powder-group-{NAME} to allow groups to have semi-ownership of channel...?
