But some people take words too seriously. I dont swesaar (usually).
but in the aussie langauge, swearing is not even noticed. we say "bl**dy" and S"it all the time. not including me, caus im from a different culture. i just live here :D
I know, usually that's true, but I'm thinking of younger people rather than 15 Y/O's. Just the other week, their was a post from a 8 Y/O's mother asking if the elements in TPT were accurate. That post indicated that very young people use this forum and the game.
I know jacob1 does a good job, but it's still not automatic. I disagree with KydonShadow, as I could argue (using that logic) that the ancient Spartons leaving their young out on hills to 'expose' them to the elements was perfectly normal and recomended to teach their young to "grow the hell up". I do not mean to insult KydonShadow, but I'm indicating that the logic used is wrong (especially when playing a game meant for young people).
I agree that censoring in general isn't a great idea, but it also would probably be nice to block posts containing slurs - there's nothing about swearing that makes it that bad (except possibly for younger users), but I've seen lots of slurs lately and those DO detract from the community.
also i feel like this post was made with EE in mind.
Pffft! You never met a Polish person besides me on TPT, I presume. Most of Polish youth swear almost 90% of the time they talk. It's like a daily routine. You will not ever meet a Polish person in your life that never used vulgar language.
I don't care much about swearing unless it's directed at somebody. But my gripe is when people flood the tags by saying xxsucks or lllool. While they're flooding it, stuff like "3creepy5u" is restricted for no apparent reason. Somebody needs to use full regex to detect which tag names are bad.
Seeing as that was sociably acceptable at the time, yeah, I think it was okay. I wish my parents had done that. I mean, have you seen the abs in 300?
Swearing is unacceptable. If I swore when I was five, my parents would of put soap in my mouth. Also yes there are six year olds that play the game. We can't enforce the rules that is known as "Back Seat Moderatoring" that's when you say you're a moderator but your not. Which sometimes can result in temp ban.
300 was a movie, and anybody whom takes a movies depiction of a real life event is stupid.
Swearing, unlike what people here think, IS an issue. We're not playing GTA V here, this is powder toy. 5 - 10 Y/O's AT LEAST should not be seeing words like F***, S*** etc. Also, Kydon Shadow again shows his flawed logic as Witch hunts, Hitler and Foot binding were at one time or another 'acceptable'...but did it/they help? no.
Also, FeynmenLogomaker (whatever your name is) is wrong. Swear words, when used often, are going to make the younger generations use them more. Do you want your 5 year old son talking like he'd just came back from the army? Do the parents of this time want to see their 'lil ones reading poosts containing obscene language? "Medium level course language" or "Course language" are usually put in the either M or PG ratings in movies/games, and those playing this game whom are young would neither be 'Mature' nor SHOULD need 'Parental Guidence'.
No need to flip out. But you're pretty accurate about the five year old part. Also he was on your side!
