What about a philosopher's stone? If you combine it with an element, spark it (or add some mercury and then spark it), it will transmute it into something else. Sparking it again will reverse it. I can see electical components like switchs and adjustable diodes as one of the element's uses.

I was writing my posts in this thread, and I thought of a philosopher's stone, but I didn't have the time or space to write it. Then I wrote the post and thought of how it might work on the spot.Given how often I used the word "transmute" in the last posts and how a philosopher's stone transmutes some metals into gold and silver, it came up eventually.
Though, the whole mechanism of how it worked was my invention. Given, since there is no actual philosopher's stone, it could have any sort of appearance and mechanism behind it. I made mine fit within's the actions available in TPT.
