If the money was being split between devs, I probably wouldn't take any. I code tpt for fun, not for money, and I actually have been coding my mod more than tpt anyway. I don't know how I would even get the money ...

If anything, Simon should get the money, because he has the server and pays for it, and does the most work (at least used to). But, I don't even know if he would want money either. He hasn't accepted donations or said he would before. It is up to him whether he ever accepts donations, he cans if he wants.

It's not more "I want money, so I could ask for donations", rather the senders would be "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY"

@Oats Maybe you can have a choice to donate i don't see why we should have a donate button on TPT and this isn't donateing site by the way.

I always intended for it to be a choice donnation.  And like boxmein said, for me it's more like a case of "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY". I never considered the ads though.

Instead, you could ship your money to a wonderful organization such as the EFF - it's going to be a bit difficult to donate to a single person. Here's everyone who's ever done work for the official repo.

Solving the obvious logistical difficulty of giving money to well over ten people living across the world, the source code repository could offer a gittip link or similar solution. The only actual reoccurring costs the game has is server upkeep, but that seems to be covered by that tiny banner ad in the top right, so I don't see how money donated to a 'project' could be used. That's why having a common balance/account for donations would be a bad idea.

I am usually broke since I am disabled(Epilepsy) but I would still donate some money anyway because I think TPT is such a great simulation with so much flexibility. I have just started writing my first scripts and at the same time, I am starting to learn Lua a little bit.

I am also very certain that you could generate a lot of money and attention if you put some kind of fancy UI version of TPT on Steam.

Don't get me wrong.I don't think TPT should ever go totally commercial but some money for further development could help a lot. Maybe somebody would be able to work onTPT full-time then.

This counts as a necro (a post wrote on a thread posted 1 month ago, this one is 3 years old).
