Wood has PROP_NEUTPENETRATE set. I believe that property is supposed to make neutrons scramble particles a bit, by moving the particles around when neutrons pass through. Although it should probably move them into empty space as well, like neutrons used to do to C4 in very old versions of TPT.

    Thanks

So it wasn't a glitch? It is a useful feature then, even if it seems unrealistic and glitchy.

Yeah it was supposed to do this, and therefore presenting tons of viable options for filtering lots of things.

@All developers and Mods, I'm posting a suggestion thread for a whole new type of energy particle, so please watch out for it so you can clear up any mistakes or problems that may arouse with my idea. I sense flamming too so if you guys could clear up anything I may have said that might be incorrect that lay solve lots of arguing over it. (P.S., it involves energy particles that travel through solids and liquids, is part of the spectrum of light humans are unable to see, and has some VERY interesting possible uses. Thanks guys, I have a feeling it will also have a lot to do with how the game is coded so it could become a big deal.

Yes. Now that I've made the moving into empty space work properly, it makes the material look a bit like it's crumbling when neutrons pass through.

My fault actually, I accidentally broke it last summer when I was removing blocking walls from the particle map.
