I dont understand the front page very much

i dont understand the front page, alot of it is confuses me, for example, there is a drawing called city created by Tenatos that has a lot less votes then my U.S. Laser rifle but somehow it ends up in the first slot, also i wanna know why certain drawings in the top go off the front page after about 5 days. If someone could explain these things it would really help.

Front page is things mods find cool and recently high-upvoted saves.

More high votes saves than not really. The way it works basically is the front page displays any save that has the highest number of votes from the previous week roughly. So even if a save has 1000 votes, if it's more than a week old, it will never appear on the front page.
However, a moderator can also pin a save to the front page, though generally the pin also lasts for only a week. Pinned saves appear starting from the top-left corner instead of the bottom right, and there are generally only one, maybe two of them every week.Edited by Catelite, 2011-06-21 13:28:12 -
