Downloading Python

    So what version do I download? windows X86 msi installer, windows X86-64 installer?

    are you trying to download python in general, or trying to compile tpt?

    I know when I installed python 2 I had problems installing other things to it like scons. That's because the installers didn't recognize the 64 bit version, which was just a bug with how it was added to the registry.

    It might have been fixed, but in case it doesn't probably the 32 bit version is better. (X86)

    If you just want python, I suggest getting it through cygwin. If you want python to install tpt, also cygwin.

     

    Cygwin is pretty great for this sort of thing.

    I installed my 2.7 from the ActiveState distribution and everything works fine to this day.

    Get the 32-bit
