If the only thing you care about is votes, then no one really cares if you leave.

This game is not about votes.  The amount of votes on a save does not affect the quality inside at all, nor does the quality guarentee to get X amount of votes and front page.

Now yes mass downvoting can be a problem, and I'm sure Simon can look into this if you really think it is a specific user.

The last time I told him about it he didn't do anything though ): He did see the user who was randomly downvoting everything but said "he also upvotes stuff". i think limiting downvotes (or more extreme, removing them completely) would make everyone happier, people care about votes more than they should, and that way people would stop getting so upset.

My guess is some trolls found out that we can't do anything if they mass downvote like this.

It'd not so much the votes, just the fact that things have gone down hill for me

The only reason I care about votes is it just makes it more likely for your work to be seen. I don't know about other people, but I tend to lose my patience with the 'Saves by Date' after about the 5th page because I realise how much time I'm wasting looking through page after page of essentially purified crud. Things get buried so rapidly that if they're not picked up in a day or so and elevated to frontpage they'll likely stay buried forever.

I would really like to see the ability to 'Favourite' an author, not just individual saves. Being able to easily keep track of people you like or know do good saves could help this problem in some way.

I agree with you, but compleately new improvements are so much harder to add them previous ones as some things can just be modified or taught. Also I found the reason I was been targeted. There is a group of people who don't like it when people resave their creations too often (which there's really nothing wrong with)

    I have an idea!

let force them to comment first before they downvote and there should be confirmation prior to upvoting and downvoting to make "I meant to upvote" a thing of the past

Then they'll simply make spam comments.

Hubski, a news/self post aggregator similar to reddit (but better) has no such things as downvotes, neither does it have numerics for votes. Having numerics kind of breaks the point.
