Actually, the Earth wouldn't be a planet anymore when the sun supernova's, as the force would be like a billion nukes all in one. The initial impact of force would blast most of the Earth into bits.
The earth has been slowing in spinning since its berth. In its childhood it would complete a day in 6 hours
@BullitShark LOL. But, have you heard about what'll happen in maybe, 60 years? We just lost a second (or gained one: leap second) because the EARTH, is slowing down it's spin.. Ouchie.
indeed it is, and i believe sun is almost half way through its life
@chewy1209 What? The sun WILL expand into a red giant. In 4.5 billion years. No sun simply "goes out."
The sun is to small to blow-up/cause a supernova. And it wont turn into a red giant,it would simpily go out, or sun is barely a meduim class sized sun...
To say it in a short way: 2012 apocalypse won't happen
it looks like mars lol +1
@kzatorn the magnetic poles have switched b4 so it wouldnt be the first time and after the sun DOES gets past its current stage it becomes a red giant and would destroy mecury venus and earth
AND the only thing that can happen is 2012 is the magnetic pole's might switch.
