Actually, the Earth wouldn't be a planet anymore when the sun supernova's, as the force would be like a billion nukes all in one. The initial impact of force would blast most of the Earth into bits. -

The sun is to small to blow-up/cause a supernova. And it wont turn into a red giant,it would simpily go out, or sun is barely a meduim class sized sun... -

@kzatorn the magnetic poles have switched b4 so it wouldnt be the first time and after the sun DOES gets past its current stage it becomes a red giant and would destroy mecury venus and earth -
