Actually, Hitler never took a cyanide pill. He actually snuck one in his wife's drink, then after she did he put a revolver to his head. Interstingly enough, this was his third wife...and all three wifes had attempted suicide at one point, but the third failed. What makes this so weird? Well...the very revolver Hitler used to kill himself was actually the exact same revolver one of his ex-wifes used to kill herself.

WarfareRyan is correct. Though to my knowledge, both Hitler and his wife took a cyanide pill and then Hitler shot himself shortly after. I don't know why he did the extra step, maybe just to make it so the allies couldn't identify him as easily.

wow, it's kinda sick... but i have to respect your knowledge... nice-if slightly disturbing depth of research there ryan...

Actually, Hitler's wife Eva Bruan took a cyanide and died within 50 seconds. Hitler himself shot himself in the head with a Walther P38. Both were then taken out to the park only a block away from the Chancelery Building, were buried and set alight. This was to stop the Allies, Russians especially, from parading the corpses. When they were finally found, both bodies were charred beyond rocognition, and the only way Hitler's body could be identified was the fact that half of his head was gone.

Resse4u2: Hitler and his wife bit into the same cyanide pill. His wife died, but Hitler did not. He later shot himself in the head.
