In my opinion, bigger engines just gives you more torque and acceleration. While smaller engines gives you more RPM. More speed. -

I find it funny that there are many cars that have smaller engines yet are much faster than massive engine cars. The Bugatti Veyron has a W12 engine (I think) whil the Koenigsegg (Better car IMO) has a V8. I love Porsche BTW. +1
