The eternal Fokker Triplane remains a symbol of Germany's Manfred von Richtofen aka the "Red Baron" due to the bright red color of his plane. The Fokker Dr.I led him to many victories, and he ultimately died in his plane, shot down by Roy Brown.

The Fokker Dr.I had incredible maneuverability and was also a very stable plane, something not many planes of the time could claim.
