In 1993 Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9,pulled in by Jupiter's gravity crashed into the huge gas giant. The explosions caused by the impact left a huge hole in Jupiter's atmosphere that was visible for almost a year afterward. COMETS CAN DO DAMAGE.
@ spoogda4: A comet can cause a very large amount of damage. They can be miles across. Something much smaller falling from space can release more energy than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima.
comets are just icy dust balls, so I doubt they'd cause a lot of damage. plus they're too far away
-_-" comets are too far away
fatcat, a comet is an icy ball... it still hits things like a meteorite. and fyi a meteorite is under 5 metres, so stfu faggot.
dont u mean meteorite, stupid
