when there was several layers of whol removing just the top layer actually did slow down the eraser drastically. the new dray module is a lot less dependent on the whol, but it still makes the preformence marginally better.

the pmap stutering is just what I am calling the visibility of particles in the pmap flickering between being detected by the mouse and not while unpaused. while things are not visible to the mouse they can't be erased by the eraser, so the fact that this is reduced correlates with imporvment. The whol used to be several layers thick untiol I just recently fixed it by giving it a higher tmp.

"the whol actually makes a big diffrence, just remoiving one layer is enough to drastically reduce the effectivness" - that makes no sense. "pmap stuttering" - what do you mean by this?
-
the reduction in particle count also seems to have improved both the framerate and pmap stuttering
-
I have found a solution, and now the eraser is only around 16k particles

In this eraser, the whol actually makes a big diffrence, just remoiving one layer is enough to drastically reduce the effectivness of the eraser, so in this case the whol is actually pretty important.

You could increase tmp to 2147483647, as a start, although I'm not sure that'd do much. In general, I don't think it matters very much how effective your WHOL is.

Bc I was lazy with the marketing on this one
