The AE Aquarii System is a cataclysmic variable binary star system located 280 light years away in the constellation Aquarium. It is composed of a K4V type orange dwarf and a white dwarf which is slowly consuming its pair.

    reminds me of the system the jupiter monolith took the main character of 2001: space oddyssey in the book, the only difference is that this is a main sequence and the one in the book was a red giant
