To start, simply pressurise the uranium. It may explode or meltdown after a while

It actually will sustain itself just from the boiling water slowly pressurizing it, just slowly heat to 120C, continuing to add bursts of heat untill the uran is both boiling the water by itself, and is under a c continually higher amount of pressure.
