my favorite Isotope of hydrogen, Hydrogen-4, and how it is synthisized. btw, did you know that the deuterium in tpt is just water! if you hover over it the description says deuterium oxide, which is just water, since deut is actually a hygn isotope!

AuricKerg: I like it because it's the most attanable and simple, yet is still extreme. It so despretly wants to become tritium, which although unstable, is much more stable in comparrison to Hydrogen-4. I also like how we have known about it for a decently long time (about 40 years), and we have decent informaition on it, in comparrison to isotopes like Hydrogen-(5,6,7) where we know very little about them.

technically deut itself is nicknamed heavy hydrogen, and deut oxide is heavy water, but I know thats what you ment

another name for deut is heavy water, it is drinkable in small amounts irl.

when it decays so quick, how come it is your favourite? what separates it from all other extremely unstable isotopes apart from its lightweight?

yeah the half life is really short, about 1.39*10^-22 seconds. it decays realeasing neutrons, and becomes tritium once it realeases one of it's neutrons.
