If you give it 1000 years and have, like, a 5x5cm box of a solid containing deuterium and some protons inside a completely proton-proof box, could this actually happen in real life?

im aware tadpole, the concentration of deuterium in the rock is over-exaggerated so it can show everyone how it works.

If you wait long enough, the rock will still heat up due to the occasional fission in the deut.I didn't touch the pscn.

it is akin to lowering the control rods of a reactor, allowing slow moving neutrons (or in this case, protons) to spend more time potentially contacting and interacting with the fissile material (deuterium)

in short, PROT touches DEUT and might cause a chain reaction
