    I guess so, but it would be more technically accurate to also invoke other fluid equations to state the relationship between velocity and pressure. in which case mode 2 yields the best visualization, but the streamlines are also nice

    I think it can be correct if rotor of air flow equals zero.

    I suppose the streamlines show the direction of the pressure differentials, and hence produce a similar description, though i think using the pressure visualization would be more correct?

    Is it fair to say the advection of the air in TPT is analogous to the 2D wave equation? Also, technically the streamlines show flow direction, which isn't the same as pressure, though they provide a nice visualization.
