And that loop destroys TPT every day.
The TPT Loop: A new user joins TPT. The new user makes a few saves. The saves get downvoted and made fun of for being low-effort. The user quits TPT and uninstalls it from their computer. A new user joins TPT...
to be honest, i blame most of the decline in save quality on spike viper. Although he made a huge difference to the amount of active players, the sheer amount of new players, who barely even try has discouraged many actually good users from trying to make good saves.
sapient-primum: yeah u kinda right that 2013 tpt had a lot more low effort saves but 2013 tpt doesnt have what current tpt has. a lot has changed since 2013.
and I can't even begin to comprehend what a "good" save even is, other than what one's subjective feeling of what "goodness" is. Personally one of my favorite users is GOAT_OF_TPT, and **I** think his saves are good!
The reverse true, an art save I did took me more than 2.5 hours and has only 3 points, less than the Mr. Beast save I did. (2.5 hours may be considered nothing by those of you who spent days on a save, but look at my save entitled memento mori, it has at least more than average effort put in to it, right?) So with regard to this, I do not think effort alone will guarantee you a place in FP.
I have personal experience with this, my save titled Realistic cat has a total of 65 points and there was almost no effort involved.
Now, seriously look into it, does this so called "hard work" actually constitute a "good" save? Observing the community I've seen plenty of low-effort saves that are considered good by the majority of users that up-vote the save.
Isn't this save contributing to the low-effort milieu of saves? And going back and inspecting 2013 TPT, it seems that there are more high-effort saves now than there were then. I also think this high-low effort obsession people have is more destructive and toxic. What exactly is effort? It's defined as a conscious exertion of power, or just hard work.
like really ._. or tpt gonna die...
