Here is a very rough tutorial for drawing galaxies using the deco tool. I cannot guarantee you will end up with the same results, but I hope this helps anyone curious understand the process! Lmk if you have any questions.

I have found that the smudge tool is good in conjunction with the subtract tool when it comes to space art. But I agree that too much of it can ruin an art piece as you lose so much detail. I only use it to blend up backgrounds, really.
