It is a virophage. It infects cells and protects people for life by changing the DNA. It also aids the blood by transporting O2. When the Bovine Virus infects, cells detect it and uses the DNA to make their own viruses that attack the Bovine Viruses.

it isn't really a cure since it doesn't cure them, more like those hiv treatments which stop it from spreading and advancing -
