You also forgot about TPT Gold's conductive powers. It conducts electricity quickly, and carries spark over 3-pixel wide gaps (same with Platinum).
In Minceraft, gold is useful when you want speed but have a lot of resources. It's a good compromise in some cases. You can easily find gold in the Nether, too.
