    it looks like there are four intakes. the lower two most likely retract at higher velocities.

    They're most likely air intakes, since high altitude + speed needs alot more air than normal combustion engines, you can't exactly see the "thrusters". Since they'd be located behind the air intakes,

    Also, the "thrusters" on the wings and hull are wheels, the ones in view.

    It would've been cooler if there were crays that shot lazers if it was sparked. This alread has metal, so not much would have to change.
