@Emperor_of_Catkind, TTAN is a good solution. I saw a while ago that there was METL exposed to the solid with no INSL, so it heated up the DSTW. But I think IRON is a good solution, too because it doesn't overheat, and it contrasts with the color of the body nicely to give it some more detail.
The convention is that my Stellaris ships are proposed to fight each other, with ships of the roughly same weapon/protection standards, of the same "weight category", much like in the boxing sport. So please come to my terms that I would accept your ideas if they would not harm the standarts accepted by me for these ships.
@R33sesK1ng You're right, I use certain materials for aesthetic, and this also helped me with painting these ships. But I won't use DMND. As I stated before, I used DMND earlier for bomb launchers before I discovered the NSCN-FRAY-NSCN-CRAY tech. I believe that there should be no undestructible parts in a spaceship so I would not use DMND unless for exceptional uses. And do you know an examples of "intelligent" use of DMND?
@R33sesK1ng The problem with heating is solved with changing METL to TTAN. I also think about changing water into DESL or MWAX.
Over time, I've learned that anything can be used to maximize their usefulness and their aesthetic properties. This goes for ("conventionally") destructible materials, as well. Each material has their own use, and each one can be used for their maximum potential. It all depends on how you go about it.
Also, I think it's fine to use DMND. Honestly, I looked at the OG saves, and saves from Vampireax and I think my mind was changed, a while back. Years ago, I thought using DMND would generally be unattractive, but got around to playing with that idea, and figured out that it could be used for interesting reasons. Its color often contrasts with other elements' colors in an ugly way, but it can be used intelligently.
@Emperor_of_Catkind, Thiis is a REALLY good save. I can't wait to see more... BUT, the DSTW encased in TTAN evaorpates into WTRV, overtime, and makes the ships glow. It does not look good. Change the DSTW to something else, perhaps?
A part two??? wow these are good
These are really cool, there is no way I could make these; The scientist ship looks like a worm ship from event horizon frontier. +1
@Vampireax 1) Gimme save id for your laser; 2) I reserved WIFI channels for the certain types of ships: 0-800 K for Humanoid ships and 900-1200 K for Humanoid stations and Colossi. And again: read the description, Science and Construction ships are not proposed to be tested together, though Transport Ship can be tested along with battle ships from Part 1.
