If the diameter of penetrator is lower than the caliber of barrel then the round is sub-caliber. However, if APCR hits very thin armor and jacket stays on core... xDDDD

I always looked at APCR as one big solid shot. Never thought that if it consisted of multiple materials that that would mean its not solid shot. I know that the Tungsten core would break off and keep on penetrating when the metal jacket gets stopped. That didn't make me think of it as an sabo like thing.

kerponaut: it does matter. APCR are essentially sub-caliber rounds with non-discarding sabot, therefore they have tungsten core. AP, APC, APBC and APCBC, on the other side, are truly full-caliber solid bullets with different caps, and are usually just made of hard steel

APCR, APBC, APCBC, APC, ACDC does it really matter in the end they are all Armour Piercing rounds.

I also checked that Full caliber uranium penetrator rounds have been used in 20-30mm autocannons

@Beatless123 Many if not most full caliber AP shells used tungsten cores.
