    Subframe pstn like I used can move as smoothly as your design. But you're right that getting the beams to 'rotate' would be a nightmare (I tried - my original plan was beams spiralling out then back in, but while I know how to do it, the mechanics are just too awkward). I do see why you did it the way that you did.
