    In 1875, was the first attempt to globally investigate the Mariana trench. The English expedition of the "Challenger" carried out a measurements and analysis of gutter. This group of scientists established the primary mark 8184 meters. Of course, it was not full depth, so that time was much more modest of today's measurement systems.
