I made an slightly vaster verison then my previus one, it has no dedicated buffer, but it sets the cells to a dieing or rising state, then updates it. this makes the implementation a lot smaller, but also faster. id:1939372

Thanks for the comments! I made a small update which increases usable field, and also added a ROM with a small spaceship figure, which greatly demonstrates the slowness of my GOL version

haha nice! someone actualy went ahead and made one! looks neat. i used a timer peripheral made bu LBP to calculate my (smaller) implementation, i ended up with 9922 frames per update, that would be abaut 155 frames per cell. its way smaller than you implementation tho, nice job!
