Those reactions to a Electromagnetic fielt. It's like the BOYL get's other propeties in one. This is in No-Gravity mode. This is the only way the BOYL can have a gravitational force into it to "suck" materials.

    I know they change the pressure, that's the only way the game can make an electromagnetic field right now... But it's weird that the BOYL get's such a shape, even though it actually should expand, not retract like it's doing here.

    Not weird at all. If you'd only look at your HUD or use Pressure Display (2), you'd see that sparked metals change the ambient pressure.
