    I prefer more minimalistic planets, I like to form planets that look more like there rough, so that, from your perspective, you can tell alot about its geography, Take the gas giants in floratorsat as a great example, Note that the way I do it assumes theres a good amount of background lighting to light up the dark side, and when I feel its not quite enough, i use the lighten tool to add lighting from the star, Like I said, the gas giants in floratorsat are a good example.
