The Longinus is a 22 m l/12 electromagnetic mass driver, firing projectiles at 90 km/s. Projectiles utilize basic shield technology avoid atmosphereic friction. Only one of these cannons survived the Imperium's fall, and is now an icon of their military.

    @runemaster, true that it would sustain, but remember a shotgun is being held by a human which supports 40-50% of the recoil. This railgun or such, if it fires a ship sized projectile, it requires like a shotgun, support from its recoil. Itll fire but all that mass of firepower could make the gun unstable. The gun literally itself could rip off and fall backwards, like if you were punched, all that force acting on your medium which is your mass would fall backwards.
