Currently working on a new engine, as my manual CRAY sort isn't the most useful. Could use advice, suggestions, opinions.

But it also takes up more space.

Yes, if you use PPIP, you can regulate how much compressed deuterium goes into the chamber, it allows you to easily control the rate of flow with the pipe width and length.

PBCN isn't working. And I know about compressing Deuterium, but the engines are so inefficient they burn through the entire tank within a few seconds. I edited the engine before use, however, as seen in my Thundercloud design. Any further advice?

You should use bcln to make the neutrons instead of cray, because cray doesn't work if the deut fills the whole space.

This is similar to the engines I use on my ships, so I can give you a few pointers. First, I don't like to use clone, this is just personal, but I prefer to have all my fuel stored on the vessel, second, you should compress the deuterium for more power and easier startup. If you'd like to take a look at my engine design, you can see a good example at ID:1601795
