This idea is to help stem the flow of comment spamming by either showing a fraction of a long comment and click to view all, or having a max character/consecutive comment limit. comment (not spamming/trolling to PO me) on your feelings about this.

    no, I can't change the max comment length, it will always be large. I can just limit what's displayed in game, and you can always go to the website to see the full comment. jacksonmj was looking into it once, and a really, really long message once was about 800 characters. People almost never make comments that long unless spamming. Even my longest messages never hit the limit.

    well, if this came, then, if you wanted to right a really long comment, youd have to post like 5 comments. its a good idea, but it would just get annoying.

    my mod actually only loads 1024 characters from any comments so I never have this problem. But I have seen this before in the official version and it definitely would be very annoying. As far as I know there should now be a limit on comment length, but I've recently made a spammy comment that was like 10000 - 100000 long and it still worked, so I don't know where the check went ... maybe it only applies when you submit in game or something. I think cutting off comments at 1024 is the best idea, with a small message appended saying it got cut off and to check the website to see the rest.
