    There aren't exactly any stars close enough to supermassive black holes for them to get sucked in (other than ones in orbit around the black holes, and those don't get sucked in). Stars can't form in an area in which they would be immediately destroyed. A black hole's gravity is only as strong as that of the star it formed from, so it couldn't have formed then sucked in stars.
