It's not a glitch. Under a certain temperature, quartz becomes conductive, but at a hyper-low temperature, quartz becomes extreme;y brittle, so when the quartz conducts, the spark creates a small amount of pressure, therefore shattering the quartz

quartz does this on purpose. also works in 8+ pressure
