    "LASER" is actually an acronym. The "L" means "Light". If it's not using photons, then it's not a lazer. It can be lazer-like, but if it's using electrons and not photons, then it's not a lazer. Also, I wouldn't call it a laser if you can't figure out how to focus it into a beam.
