well technically if u had powerful enough engines you can still go past speed of light without warping space, but it means the light you are going fast enough past is inside a medium such as air (speed of light reduces within mediums) though granted it is only a tiny bit under speed of light in a vacuum -

You can go "faster" than light if the light is going through normal space-time and you are warping space-time to stretch it larger behing you and smaller in front of you. NASA is working on that now if I'm not mistaken. -

_-_ you people sound like the old men from the 1800's that said you can't break the sound barrier, particles CAN break the speed of light, BUT sense light is the fastest NATURAL thing, thats how fast they can go, but if a force faster than light is applied they will go, faster than light. Warp is one way of achieving this. -
