Plus there is the point that we do have indicators that our poles WILL shift soon.The are spots on the earth where the magnetic field is already flowing south.

My theory is geological polar shift, the poles shift (it's actually overdue, like yellowstone) and drag the continents with them, creating effects like those seen in "2012"

@Dovahking, of course its possible, its a volcano! There id just a very small chance of it erupting in our lifetimes. Hopefully it dosent' it has been pressureizing for millions of years :)

I was sort of saying that sarcasticlly. I know it's a huge number. And I completely agree, I don't even think they said it would end at that date. Just because their calander ends and we know almost nothing about them anyway, it's just overhyped.

I don't think you know how many a "few bllion" is. And of course nothing will happen, all the hype is over a misunderstanding of the mythology anyways.
